Oktoberfest at Snowbird draws thousands of visitors to Little Cottonwood Canyon each weekend.  Whether you plan to drive or ride Snowbird’s free shuttle, a little preparation can help you spend less time in traffic and more time enjoying your day. THE GIST: Expect Significant Travel Delays Oktoberfest weekends are among the busiest times of the year in Little Cottonwood Canyon.

Visitors to Big Cottonwood Canyon and Little Cottonwood Canyon should be aware of Recreation Enhancement Act (REA) fee areas that took effect June 1, 2026.   These fees apply within designated areas managed by the U.S. Forest Service and help fund recreation facilities, trail maintenance, visitor services, and other improvements. Parking within an REA fee area requires a valid day-use pass
