The Traction Law is in effect for both Big & Little Cottonwood Canyons (SR-190/SR-210) and applies to both travel directions. Traction devices are required for all vehicles, for requirements click here.

Going to Alta Ski Area or Snowbird? You’ll be traveling in Little Cottonwood Canyon (SR-210). Going to Brighton or Solitude? Head up Big Cottonwood Canyon (SR-190).

Downhill delays likely today with snow showers continuing, winter road conditions & high volume of traffic. 

‼️Consider an early departure or be prepared for fully stopped traffic at times this PM in upper canyons. 🐍

6pm(1/4) – 6am(1/6): Dry overnight w/ no road concerns
